Dragon Boat Races and the World's Fair - Flushing Meadows, NY
I've lived in NYC for 5 years and never went to Flushing Meadows Park, ghostly abandoned site of the 1964-65 World's Fair, until today. I must admit it's one of the cooler sites in the city! I absolutely loved it! The Unisphere globe is much more impressive in person than seeing it on TV. The pool under the globe has been drained, but the fountains were still on, so kids and adults alike were all playing in the fountains. We ended up there because on the opposite side of the park was the Hong Kong Dragon Boat Festival, but on our way there passed through the World's Fair site. I was so glad I brought my FD-7 with me for this!!
